I've finished The Riddle! It was even more wonderful than the first, every moment left me hanging, I was completely enraptured in it. It took me a while to read though because I was just about half-way through another book after The Gift/ The Naming. I generally make it a point not to read a ton of books in a series in a row because it makes me feel really disinterested in all other books after I'm done BUT *grins* I don't really care anymore, once I'm done with The Crow I'm just going to read The Singing. I'm virtually hanging off a cliff here. A summary of The Riddle: ( SPOILER alert for those who haven't read it) I LOVED it. Alison's unique style, flair and descriptive language has really got me intrigued into the world of Edil-Amarandh. I was devastated when Maered thought Cadvan was dead though. I practically couldn't read on until (yes, the horror) flicking to the end of the book and making sure myself that he was still alive (my impatience). I was also most startled when Maered fell for the Winter King and Arkan mentioned making Maered his queen! It was so surprising that I was giggling like crazy on my bed, late at night, reading those words. And when I finally got up to when Maered recognized Cadvan camping in the middle of the Pellinor ruins, I was elated! Yup. I get seriously emotionally attached to these books.

I actually wasn't devastated when Cadvan died. I was sort of hoping something like that would happen. They really weren't getting along at the point so they needed to think the other was dead or lost so that when they found each other they would forget their problems and they could be friends again (or more).

Great smileys. I flipped through the book too, to see if my theory was right, but I had been expecting them to find each other sooner so the fact that I couldn't find his name (I didn't look all the way in the back) made me really nervous.

I do flip through books, but I won't go back too far because whatever I do I don't want to ruin the ending for myself. i accidently did that on harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. I wasn't even looking ahead, I was just finding my spot...

Wow, I've never known anyone who can relate with my tendency to "cheat" books, everyone has always told me its crazy I actually flicked to the 4th last chapter of the book at first, I found his name and was content but to my horror, I found out later, it was only a Maered's DREAM. Yup. Panic attack second time round and I flicked to the second last page.. Oo I know what you mean, luna. I did that to some books too when I wasn't using a bookmark. I now carefully make sure I slip in a discarded piece of fabric every time I close a book, so its easier just to open it to the page I'm up to.

I try to use a bookmark, but I'm so used to not using I always forget it. And by the way, you are not crazy. One of my friend's Mom can't stand the suspense of books so she always reads the end first.

That's a comfort ^^ I don't really do to many books. In fact, I make it a point not to but to those particularly good ones. Very difficult.
