YEAH

I GOT PRETTY PUSHY PARENTS AS WELL :/ I DO NOT LIKE THEM ALL THAT MUCH REALLY. I MEAN, I LOVE THEM CUZ THEY ARE MY PARENTS BUT IT DOES NOT MEAN I LIKE THEM.. THEY ARE REALLY STRICT BUT I DO NOT COMPLAIN 2 BADLY BECAUSE I PRETTY MUCH GET WHAT EVER I WANT FROM THEM. YEAH, LIKE, I AM AN ONLY CHILD BECAUSE MY MOM TOLD ME THAT SOMEHOW MY DAD WAS UNABLE TO GET HER PREGNANT AGAIN. I REALLY DO NOT KNOW WHAT SHE MEANS BY THAT, BUT MY AUNT AND I BOTH THINK HE IS NOT MAN ENOUGH. MY AND MY AUNT GET ALONG REALLY WELL SINCE HER AND MY PARENTS DONT GET ALONG. THEY PUSH ME 2 DO SPORTS AND CHEERLEADING BECAUSE THEY SAY THAT IS WHAT REALLY MATTERS IN SCHOOL, AND MY GRADES COME TO A CLOSE SECOND EVEN THOUGH I GET STRAIT A'S.

ya know, you want to try to get your parents to see your side of the story. then you all might respect each other more...

I love my parents to death, and I tell them everything. It just makes life so much easier.

Trust really does help in those sort of situations. Dishonesty always seems to be the start of major problems. But I know that can be really hard sometimes, too.

I really love my mom but sometimes she can be really insensitive, and in many ways, we're not very alike. Especially the differences between growing up in different countries too. I suppose it's more of a culture thing with me.
I do try to see her perspectives with things though, so its ok most of the time =)

I agree luna, dishonesty can really sometimes tear a lot of things apart.

I sorta know what you guys mean.

I agree with you about the honesty thing though.

I tell my parents everything mainly because I feel uber guilty for lying to them, or keeping things from them, and it is nice because they really trust me in return.

Exactly. I just can't lie to my parents. I would feel awful. But it works out well because I get a lot more privelages as a result.

EXACTLY.

For example, I don't have a cerfew. My parents trust me enough that I am not going to get into any trouble, so if I am over at a friend's house I can come home any time I want, and for Prom and Homecoming, I can stay out as late as I want with my friends.

The only thing I have to do is tell my parents when I am home, which is easy enough to do.
